Travel

After a few hours sleep we got up and started to sort out bikes for the race on Saturday. Paul has his pretty much sorted, and mine ... well I think I have a bike. We're not sure yet. Probably. I forgot how South America time works ... very nice people we are staying with and have met so far. today we are off to test the bikes - the race gets up to 4000m so that will be interesting to see how it performs - as well as how WE perform in such high altitude!

Lesotho, TV, coaching and Ecuador

On my way back from 3 days riding in Lesotho. Great time, had a few adventures! Feeling good about the Roof. Can't wait.

Now if you read this in time, Supersport 6 tonight in South Africa on will be showing the first half of Road to Romania (so we're told) at 6:30pm, then the last round of the National Enduros will be on Dirt Worx at 8pm.

Record if you have a life and are going out (written by Mon who is staying in...)

Coaching at Vmacs on Sunday, another sold out day, should be good. Then we are off to Ecuador on Tuesday - busy busy!

Kamberg Fun Ride - Mon's big day out

On Sunday we went to the Kamberg fun day, a fundraiser for Nottingham Road Pre-Primary school. Mon got her plastics back from Darryl the night before and was very excited about it.

The loop was great, everyone was happy with the track, I had fun trailing along behind Mon and trying to get her bike up a few hills. And it was a very successful fundraiser, so thanks to everyone who came along to support it.

Finally we got around to going for a bit of a hike in the Drakensberg. It was a stunning day, and we had a great time - amazing views, alien spys, waterfalls and streams, and lots of talking crap about ... bikes and the pump track we want to build! After our 5 hour hike we went up to Iain's and started on the pump track, full of enthusiasm and armed with a tractor we gave it a good start! Ran out of daylight and energy so am hitting it again tomorrow.

SA National Champion

Enduro

We had the final South African Enduro champs round yesterday and it went really well for me. It was a pretty tough race, some big climbs, lots of rocks and plenty of sun baking us.

I didnt get to see the full results but by my teams maths I won all four racing stages and took the overall win for the round and for the series as well. This makes me South African open clas and overall enduro champion! Stoked!

Downhill cycle - and uphill!

Training

Today Iain, Paul and I rode in Umkomaas Valley - it involved a 20km downhill - and then yes, a 20km uphill. We were all prettttty broken after that, I had to drive Iain's Merc home, shame. Riding motorbikes tomorrow to Bulwer, good times!
